A small number of creatures are disabled from natural spawning on Survival Enhanced. This page explains which ones, why, and whether they could come back in the future.
Disabled Creatures
| Creature | Status | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Pegomastax | Disabled | Nuisance creature — item-theft mechanic adds no meaningful value to the cluster experience. |
| Ichthyornis | Disabled | Nuisance creature — item-stealing and disruption behavior. |
| Lumina | Disabled | Disabled for PvP balance. Its current implementation is too strong for the cluster; it can be revisited if balanced appropriately. |
| Umbra | Disabled | Same policy as Lumina — disabled for PvP balance, can be revisited if balanced appropriately. |
| Helicoprion | Disabled | Disabled while under balance/compatibility review for Survival Enhanced. |
| Ocean Helicoprion | Disabled | Disabled while under balance/compatibility review for Survival Enhanced. |
| Gargantar | Disabled | Disabled while under balance/compatibility review for Survival Enhanced. |
Our Policy
Disabled creatures are reviewed individually, not permanently banned as a category. A creature stays disabled only as long as it presents a real balance, stability, or compatibility problem for the cluster. If that concern gets resolved — through a mod update, a rebalance, or a configuration change — a disabled creature can be re-enabled.
The goal of this policy is protecting PvP balance and cluster stability, not removing content for its own sake.
Why You Won't Find Them, Even in Storage
Disabling a creature prevents it from spawning naturally on any Survival Enhanced map. On its own, that wouldn't stop someone who already owns one from keeping it alive in storage indefinitely.
To close that gap, Lumina, Umbra, Helicoprion, Ocean Helicoprion, and Gargantar are also blacklisted from Dino Depot capture, auto-capture, and release. That means a Dino Ball holding one of these creatures can't be used to reintroduce it to the cluster. Pegomastax and Ichthyornis aren't part of this blacklist, since removing their spawns is purely a quality-of-life decision rather than a balance one.
